[1] INTERNET SERVICES: why not start your own Internet service providing business in Nigeria and start making Mega bucks. It may not be as expensive as you think. The beautiful part is that you can decide the number of people you want to start with. Which means you can start low term. For example inpx whose website is: www. iwirelessng. net partners with Nitel. So they just purchase a space in Nitel broadband and now they are making money from it. This is a business that will require a lot of planning but like I said you can start with just few people. And also you can start without an office. For example if you could get just 100 Nigerians to pay for your 24-7 Internet service at N12,000 monthly, thats N1. 2 million monthly and I tell you, close to N700,000 will be profits and thats every month.

[2] FLYERS DISTRIBUTION SERVICE: As I was launching www. leakedhoneypot. com, I was looking for flyer’s distribution services that can help me post about 1,000 fliers in Lagos and I couldn’t find any. There are only few people doing this in Nigeria. A friend when he was doing this business in Port-Harcourt was averaging N200,000 monthly and he had no staff. All he did was to advertise his service on T. V bill board. e. t. c. And when clients come to him, he charges them per poster, depending on the location. For example he could charge them N9 for every flier. That may look small but the profit comes in quantity. Imagine just a church giving you 20,000 fliers to post for them. . . that’s N180,000 from just a ministry. All he had to do was to get two or three people and give them the job of posting the fliers where the client wants it. This is a great business that you should consider stating. Companies, Organizations, Churches needs this service. Provide it to them and make some dough for yourself. N100,000 can get you started. And that includes an office and fee for placing adverts in newspapers.

[3] BULK SMS MARKETING: I like this business because once you build a list of potential customers. You can stop advertising. Churches, School, Organizations, Seminars coordinators and even individuals need this service. Customize bulk message means where people can send bulk-message and have it customize with their names on the sender name. This business makes money on quantity but trust me you will make lots of money from it. I am considering starting one soon. There are more than 100 million Nigerians and an average G. S. M phone holder sends like four messages a day for N9 or more. But with your bulk customize sms business they can send it for N5 and have it customize. That makes it look professional. Your client base is really large. Think of getting a church that has 2,000 members. Introduce the Pastor to this service and he will really love it because it gives him the opportunity to reach his members weekly. At N5 each, if all he sends is just one message a week to remind them to come for the next Sunday service that will be four messages a month and thats a total of N40,000 a month. If your profit is just N2 each thats a profit of N20,000 from just one ministry and that profit is recurring because as long as they will keep sending message, you will keep making money. If you could get 1,000 Nigerians[and thats very easy] to send 10 messages a day using your service, thats 10,000 messages a day. At a N2 profit thats N20,000 everyday! Examples of people that does this in Nigeria already is: www. kullsms. com . If you want to start your own, you can go to: www. routesms. com a company base in India that can help you get started.

[4] PROOF READING SERVICE: Have you ever read a book and you got so frustrated because of so many typographical errors? Or if you watch Yoruba Movies a lot, you will agree with me that, there proof-reading isn’t as correct as it should be. That means the market Is waiting for you. It is not a course that is studied in the university. You don’t even need an office or any academic experience. As long as you think you are good in detecting word error, then you can turn it into a business. If you want much information about proof-reading you can go over to: www. amazon. com and search for the term”proof-reading”. There are books on that topic that you can read. This is a business that has a lot of advantages. Like I said you don’t need anything to start. Just write proposals to movie houses, publishers, authors and printing press.

[5] EVENT CENTER BUSINESS: This one might require some money to start. But the potential profit is limitless. Imagine you owning a big hall, where people come to hold seminars, weddings e. t. c. And pay you cash for it. You rent the hall once or better still you build it and then over and over again people keeping paying you for using it. If you have heard of K&G event center. I guess what you didn’t hear was that, they charge N500,000 for using a portion of their full hall. That’s N500,000 and guess what? It is always booked. What of XQZ-MOI, they charge N2 million. You can start one today.

[6]GAME & FOOTBALL CENTRE: With N50,000 in your hand, you can start this business. Just rent a BIG room that can contain about 60-100 people. Turn it into a Game Center where people come to play games. And whenever there is a on-going football match, your also turn it into a football center. If just 80 people pay N50 to watch the football match in your shop, thats N4000. Repeat this everyday for the time frame of that particular football season and add all the football matches that will be played in one year, you will see that you have made serious money. And whenever there is no match, your game center will keep you going. Just 50 people paying N20 per game, thats N1,000 daily. And that recurring. You can even increase the value of a customer by selling G. S. M recharge cards, Snacks and Drinks. As a student in the university, or a sports lover you can turn this into a major business for yourself.

[7 ]LAUNDRY SERVICE: Like I said. Once you start opening your eyes, you will see opportunities. Do you know that an average Laundry service center get at least 300 clothes to wash in a month?. Now even if they charge just N200 per cloth, thats N60,000 every month. Of course a single family can bring up to 50 clothes at once. I personally spend more than N8,000 a month for my clothes to be washed. And I know there are at least 20 people that do the same thing to the guy who washed my clothes and thats N160,000 from just 20 clients. You don’t even need to wash the clothes yourself. Just employ those who will do it. With passion, customer satisfaction and focused marketing, you can build this business to N200,000 or more every month.

[8] MOVIE SCREENING SERVICE: Have you been to Silver bird galleria before and see the way they charge N1,500 per movie? And yet people flock to them daily in their hundreds. It’s time for you to start your own in a place where people will need them. For example if you are a student, starting a movie screening business in the university will make you money. You only need 50 people to watch a movie at N500 a day. That’s N25,000 daily, which is N750,000 a month. To start-up this business you only need a good and spacious environment. Some security guys to keep everyone where they should be. And advertise new movies as they come out. You can also make extra cash by selling Pop-Corns, snacks.

[9] DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHER: With N30,000 you can start this business and hit close to N100,000 from just four days of work!. . . here is what I mean. People go to parties and in most cases, they need someone to snap them and give them the picture almost immediately. Your job is to buy the camera and the photo printer. Go to where this people are and start delivering your service. Just be ready to work every Saturday and Sunday. 100 shots for each day means 800 shots a month. At just N100 per profit, you are walking away with N80,000 a month. In some cases you will make even more.

[10] COMPUTER TRAINING BUSINESS: I am considering starting this business sometimes next year. You will make money with this. Lots of students, school leavers need this kind of information, provide it to them and make money in return. Once you learn and master the skill. Employ few people to assist you and start marketing. An average computer course is N30,000 and if you can just get 100 students thats N3,000,000. That is still not much. Introduce some advance courses and make bigger profits. For example, software development in NIIT is N550,000. Thats half-a million. You can learn such course and start teaching your students for less. Pay attention to this! All examination bodies are going online, University Students are beginning to register their courses online and all white collar jobs now seek for Computer Literates including Security Men at Banks. This means that over 80% of Nigerians must be computer literate to either gain admission into the Universities, maintain the admission or get a job. So, a time is coming where if a family does not have a laptop, it would be a re-proach and I would say mark my words.

VALENTINE SPECIAL

The season is in the air again. Little wonder there is are different shades of RED.

The reason for the season is beautifully arranged in red colours across the sky.

Oh! Do not tell me you do not know what is been celebrated? O yes! We all know it’s the VALENTINE’s day.

Dear brethren, please take a pause and carefully reflect on this what exactly is Valentine’ s Day? 9if you say it is a day of love, you are very right but I ask what kind of love?

The story behind the Valentine’s day is this:
Once upon I time, there was a catholic mink, this monk was stationed in a very remote area. He was exposed to the lives of poor people. In a state of pity for them; he went around giving gifts to people. He did this to exemplify the love of Christ. The name of this Catholic monk was Valentine, unfortunately, Valentine died on February 14.

In honour of him, the people of that town decided to celebrate him in remembrance of his affection on February 14. Point of correction, its not just Valentine’s day but Saint Valentine’s Day. This remarkable date is now know world wide as a love day because it is a unique opportunity to reach out, to show love, express extra care and support.

Beware! Its not a day to market your body, get drunk or do some very nasty things. Rather, it is a day to show love to people, your family and moist importantly the less privilege.
NOTE: Red, the colour of love also signifies danger. The white added to the dress code signifies purity. Therefore as you show love please stay PURIFIED.

HAPPY VALENTINE

The greatest battles in life are not the battles at the war front, land, sea or air.

The deadliest battles are not fought with spears, bows, arrows, dynamites, explosives, bombs, sophisticated guns and other nuclear weapons.

THE HIGHEST BATTLE FIELD IS THE MIND.

Our decision to read this article is a function of our mind. Our decision to wake up in the morning and sleep at night is a function of our mind. Our mind is the processor of our thinking and actions.

How come we usually say things like “it just came to my mind”, “it never came across my mind”, “my church mind”.

The mind is where we fight our greatest and deadliest battles of life. It is like a Pre-Fight before we actually face real life. If you say in our mind that you are great, then you are great, if you say you will be great, then you will be great but, if you say in your mind that you cannot be rich then you can never be rich.

What happens to us in reality is a product of what we had thought about.

A popular story about a very young boy who killed a giant. How did he do it? He won the battle in his mind first then he used his catapult to kill the giant. Also a woman whom everyone had thought would never have children eventually had children because she didn’t lose the battle of her mind to barrenness.

Whatever, we conclude on our mind is always final. Therefore conclude positively that you have won the battle. No matter the challenges and problems, see them as a walk over.

Your victory is in your hand. You must not lose the battle of your mind.

What to do so that you don’t lose the battle of your mind

1.      Be Radical: be ready for change. To make bad result good result, good result better result, better result best result. Improve your ante. Change is the only constant thing and your celebration of excellence will be inevitable.

2.      Believe you can win: if you believe, you will receive. What you do not conceive you do not receive. Have a positive mindset that good things will happen.

Envision images of victory, overcoming and conquering. See the end of the journey from the beginning.

It is disastrous when people believe in you and you don’t believe in yourself but it is highly profitable if you believe in yourself and nobody believes in you

Belief brings relief. You can win.

3.      God: With God all things are possible.

Scriptures says; He that is in us is greater than he that is the world. Who hath thou mountain before Zerubabel, you shall be made flat.

God is God of possibilities. If God be for you, who can be against you?

Connect your faith in God. Do your best and leave the rest for God.

Conclusion

Never! Never! Never! Never! Say! NEVER!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Ignorance is an intellectual disease while knowledge is an indispensable mental asset. It is better to be knowledgeable than reasonable. Paul Scott said that imagination is not enough knowledge is necessary. It is good to be informed and instructed because there is no delight in being a mediocre in your chosen career. Knowledge is the key to excellence. Hear Isaac D. Israeli.” It is a wretched taste to be gratified with mediocrity when the excellent lies before us”. Knowledge is precious. The treasure of knowledge is priceless. Experts are hired because of their expertise. The coach brings up his team successfully because he knows his onions. Whatever you know and like to do, do it so well that people will be happy to pay you for it. Francis Bacon, an English politician and lawyer said that “Knowledge itself is power” You cannot be greater than what you know. What you know will make you be known. To underline this important point, Martin Luther King (Jr.) said that “time shall come when his four little kids would not be recognized by the colour of their skin but through the content of their brain”. A little extra knowledge makes a surprising difference. It will lift you above your rank and file for promotion and honour. Don’t settle for the average, “Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself but talent instantly recognizes genius” (Arthur Conan Doyle). If you don’t know more than what you know at the nowness of now, you cannot go higher in life. Two wrings can never make a right. It is not right to do the right thing in a wrong way. Where knowledge is lacking, things are done in a wrong way. Where ignorance lingers, knowledge speeds. Your doing is a product of knowing, people that know what they are doing and do well what they are doing and do well what they know to do, succeed faster than people that do not know what they are doing and what they ought to do. Charles Morgan said that “as knowledge increases, wonder deepens”. A good brain begets a great bank account. Know what you ought to know and do, and do it well. Get proper understanding of your chosen endeavours in life. Success comes easily when you know what to do, when, where and how. Michelangelo said that “a man paints with his brain not with his hands”. Through knowledge, the sailor steers the ship on the sea, and driver guides the vehicle on the road. Knowledge creates confidence. Knowledge makes things easy to be done. James Agate said that “a professional is a man who can do his job when he doesn’t feel like it. An amateur is a man who can’t do job when does feel like it.” The greatest knowledge is self-discovery. Law Tse said that “ he who knows others is learned, who knows himself is wise”. Therefore know yourself. Discover your potentials, know your ‘wit-ends’ and weak-ends’. Know what you can you better than anyone else and what others can do better than you. This would help you to improve yourself and learn from people who are ahead of you. Learn what to do and what not to do. Learn from everyone. The wise when he speaks and the fool when he is wrong. Learn from others for no man has monopoly of wisdom. John Donne said that “no man is an island, intire of itself”. Share from the experience of others. Dombody said that “he who knows not and thinks he knows is a fool, shun him. But he who knows not and knows that he knows not is a child; teach him. He who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep; wake him. He who knows, and knows that he knows is wise, follow him”. Liberty is the absence of restraint and presence of opportunity. The liberty of life is the presence of opportunity you have. However, John F. Kennedy, a one-time US President said that “liberty without learning is always in peril and learning without liberty is always in vain” Use your liberty to acquire knowledge for knowledge brings liberty. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER – MSW There are three sets of people in this world: “They are those that learn from their mistakes, those that learn from other people’s mistakes, and those who do not learn at all”. Wisdom is out there crying for whoever wants to learn. Wherever you are, learn to learn from people. Seek and search for knowledge. Don’t live in the world with a closed mind. Things around us speak to us in wisdom and knowledge. Care to learn and listen. Horace wrote that you should “Seek not for words, seek only fact and thought, and crowding in will come to the words unsought” Ask questions from people that know more than you. Be an inquirer. Blair said that “willingness to be taught what we do not know is the sure pledge of growth both in knowledge and wisdom”. Learning provides intellectual embellishment, mental nourishment and personal development. Read. Roger Bacon said that “Reading makes a full man, conference a ready man and writing an exact man. Study. That is why Frances Bacon said that “studies serve for delight, for ornament and for ability”. No man succeeds in life’s endeavours unless he is a fact-finder and ideas-learners. He who thinks he knows it all is under an intellectual delusion. Go the extra-mile in the quest for knowledge. “Life’s too short for chess”, so says Henry James Byron. So find a model in your chosen career and learn from him. Listen to him. Read about him to discover his secrets of success. Break lose from mental captivity through learning Anatole France said that “it is better to understand little than to misunderstand a lot”. Ignorance is deadly an so if you are ignorant you are not in charge of your destiny but somebody or thing else is. Martin Luther King said that “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity” therefore drink from the deep sea of knowledge and don’t swim in the ocean of naivety. Hear Alexander Pope: “A little learning is a dangerous thing”. Learn to learn more for knowledge is never ending. Socrates admitted that “all he knew was that he knew nothing that he was wise”. Keep on knowing. Keep on developing. Keep on improving in career choice. Success is standard. Any less thing is the taste of mediocre. Knowledge brings dignity to the dignitaries. The cementery of knowledge Josh Billings said that learning sleeps and snores in libraries, but wisdom is everywhere wide awake on tiptoes” learn from what you see, hear and read. Learn from the great genius-artist, Michael Angelo who had a life long motto: “Still I am learning”. Your level of reading determines your level of thinking and skill of writing. Isaac D’Israeli said that “there is an art of reading, as well as an art of thinking and art of writing”. Read on what you read and discover the gems of knowledge therein. Be an ardent seeker of knowledge. Sink or Swim in Knowledge Alfred Lord Tennyson said that it is wonderful to follow knowledge like a sinking star, beyond the utmost bound of human thought” be an avid reader, a good reader and a reader of good books. Leonard Spencer said that “it is good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations ………….the quotations when engraved upon the memory give you good thoughts. They also make you anxious to read the authors and look for more”. Don’t misuse knowledge Knowledge used in the wrong way is worse than lack of it. Financial fraud and corruption are rife in big corporations companies. When people decide to rubbish their intelligence and integrity on the altar of greed, Mark Twain said that “soap and education are not as burdensome as massacre but they are more deadly in the long run” don’t misuse your knowledge. Benefit the world through what you know. Great minds invented great products for the development of mankind. As long as the world exists, generation upon generation will continue to enjoy from their remarkable achievements. Illiteracy is Mental Imprisonment Illiteracy is a mental imprisonment. If you are not educated, you may not be able to chart the course of your life. James Abram Garfield remarked that “next in importance to freedom and justice is popular education, without which neither freedom nor justice can be permanently maintained”. Education is an eye-opener, and the gate-way of knowledge. As William Ralph Inge hinted: “the aim of education is knowledge not of facts but values”. Perharps you think education is difficult to acquire? Listen to James A. Brewer: “the only thing more expensive than education is ignorance. Derek Bok said that “if you think that education is expensive, try ignorance”. Though the cost of learning is not very cheap, however, the value of education is for lifetime. As Arsitotle said “The roots of education are better but the fruit is sweet”. Determine to pay the price of acquiring essential knowledge for benefit of the future. Education is the best Legacy Education is the best legacy you can have and leave for others. John Dewey said that “education is not a preparation for life, it is life itself’. Lamenting about his education, Mike Tyson, former world Heavyweight Boxing Champion said in August 1990: “I was born in a ghetto and I grew up through hard way in the ghetto. I became the World Champion but I never had education. Now I am a millionaire but money cannot remove the level of illiteracy in me” Education is emancipation from ignorance and exploitation. Lord Rougham said that “eduction makes people easy to lead but difficult to drive, easy to govern but impossible to enslave” Educated illiterates Knowledge puffs up” the wisdom of the wit is to be humble. Lord Chesterfields advised that you should “wear your learning in your pocket”. You will not know more than you know if you think you have known what you should know. Our society is filled with functional educated illiterates because many people have decided to sleep on the bed of mediocrity rather than sitting on the throne of knowledge. Quoting CNN International: “An educated man should know something “about everything and everything about something”. Be wise about what you know. Moliere said:” A knowledgeable fool is a greater fool than an ignorant fool”. What you know is useless if you cannot make use of it. John Wooden said: “it’s what you learn after you know it all that counts” what is the value of education if that doesn’t benefit you? Hear Herbert Spencer: “the great aim of education is not knowledge but action”. Share Knowledge with Others Learning is not final. What you know you know. What you don’t know you don’t know. You may not know more than you know until you make use of what you know to get what you don’t know. Share with others from what you know as each edition of Business Success does with you. You gain more from what you share than what you keep. Knowledge hoarded. He that waters others shall himself be watered “so says the bible. Bill gate, a computer magnet said “knowledge is power when it is shared”. If Bill Gates had refused to share his knowledge with the world through the establishment of Microsoft, he would not have become the richest man in the world today. Knowledge Versus Ignorance John Locke said that “the only fence against the world is a thorough knowledge of it”. The knowledgeable is an enemy of the ignorant. “When a genius appears in the world you may know him by this sign that the dunces are all in the confederacy against him”. When the unenlightened people persecute the enlightened, the world suffers. Move with the right people for excellence dies in the camp of mediocrity. Know that knowledge gives birth to good ideas but good ideas are often buried in the territory of dream-killers. Learn to keep knowledge and knowledge will keep you. Remember that Socrates said: “Knowledge is power and power is might”.
